BRAND NEW LOVE CAPE TOWN NEIGHBOURHOODS VIDEOS RELEASED AT ITB 2016

By administrator, 25th Jul 2016 Posted in: News

9 March 2016

The announcement took place as Cape Town Tourism CEO Enver Duminy is attending the world’s leading travel trade show, ITB Berlin 2016.

“The new Love Cape Town neighbourhoods videos are a continuation of Cape Town Tourism’s holistic ‘travel like a local’ marketing approach which aims at addressing the need of travelers to discover unique and lesser-known experiences in a destination.
These videos offer an intimate invitation to prospective and returning visitors to come and enjoy our locals’ favourite spots and personal hidden gems, first hand,” says Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism.

The three videos take you deep into Langa, Constantia and Somerset West with locals narrating each video, offering an off-brochure glimpse of what life is like for those who live there – what to see, what makes those places so incredibly special.

The new videos released include:

Langa:
Cape Town’s first township has a lively street vibe, and is home to a rich historical heritage and a smorgasbord of cultural experiences. It’s fun, exciting and full of new experiences visitors won’t find anywhere else!

Constantia:
Home to South Africa’s first vineyards, Constantia is known for offering an exclusive lifestyle which melds relaxed luxury with a picturesque rural environment. One of the hidden gems in this area are the Kramats (holy burial sites) of Sheikh Abdurahman Matebe and Sayed Mahmud – two religious leaders who were exiled to the Cape as prisoners of the Dutch settlers.

Somerset West:
Somerset West is the gateway to the winelands and is situated a few minutes away from world-class beaches and the Helderberg Nature Reserve. It’s just far enough out of the centre of Cape Town to escape the bustle and enjoy an unparalleled outdoors lifestyle, but close enough for locals to get their retail and entertainment fix.

These new additions join the first three videos, Woodstock, the CBD and Kalk Bay, which have enjoyed enthusiastic attention on social media since their release. These videos have all been created for anyone to download and share cost-free on any media platform, if it is used in its complete format.
